Starting point

Helrom faced complex challenges in CO2 accounting, in particular when defining the system boundaries for the Service Carbon Footprint (SCF) calculation. Without expert knowledge of ISO 14067 and ISO 14083, errors with incorrect emission values and regulatory risks were a threat. Emission-relevant information was also scattered across several sources — rail operators, energy suppliers and internal documentation.

Solution with Telusio

Telusio developed a tailored SCF calculation solution for Helrom through individual consulting and a detailed analysis of transport processes. Relevant data points from various sources were systematically consolidated into an ISO 14067-compliant calculation — as an ISO 14067-certified company, Telusio provided both software and expert support.

Results

  • Precise, science-based emission values determined for 2024
  • Solid basis for optimization measures created
  • Integration of further transport routes planned from 2025
Sustainable transport requires not only innovative technology, but also full transparency about CO2 emissions.
