At ECO3, relevant data was scattered across different systems, which made it hard to get an overview. It was also unclear which emission-relevant production steps to include and how to handle spent chemicals at process level. Even with good documentation of chemical consumption, assignment to individual printing plates remained difficult — primary data on CO2 generation from chemicals was simply not available.
Telusio developed a tailored solution for precise CO2 calculation per printing plate despite complex processes, changing chemical use and incomplete data. A dynamic method generates individual emission values per m² of printing plate, recognizes recurring processes and reuses already calculated data. Telusio structured the internal data, systematically assigned CO2 values to key process steps such as chemical baths and anodizing, and modeled missing data using ISO 14067-certified methodology — including transport emissions to the end customer.
When dealing with many chemicals and complex production processes, it is easy to deprioritize metrics like CO2 generation, since many other aspects have to be monitored very strictly. However, the market increasingly asks for CO2 values, which is why detailed calculation is the next logical step.
