Successful Implementation of a New Ecodesign Module

The introduction of the EU Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR) shows: ISO-compliant CO2 emission calculation at product level is necessary, but in future the proactive reduction of emission values will become increasingly important.

We are therefore extending our software with further analysis options for using more sustainable materials and designs, so that sustainability and product managers can see the following effects, among others:

– How do different materials and components affect the product’s CO2e emissions?
– What happens if you use a different manufacturing process or supplier for a particular part?

As André Raabe and Freya Sommer confirm in product test sessions, this not only creates transparency about CO2 emissions for manufacturing companies but also enables proactive work on reducing them – transparently in one piece of software. Thank you!

Together with a team of motivated students from the Chair of Digital Services and Sustainability (Professor Kranz), we worked on a new digital use case for our PCF calculation – the ecodesign module of the TELUSIO platform. With complete success!
